• Existential, logistical, and otherwise (March 11, 2011)

Somewhere between San Diego and Houston, I discovered that I am actually not crazy after all. Or, I discovered that I am uncommonly stubborn about being crazy, which is fortunate. Those who have received me on the road thus far -- friends, audiences, hair stylists, natural monuments, and that unforgettable Cuban guy at the Orange County gas station -- have steadily unveiled a heartfelt consensus that I am right where I am supposed to be (in their presence) doing exactly what I ought to be doing (singing). To say that I have abandoned a path of decay for a means ... Read more

  • February and beyond (Feb 4, 2011)

Tomorrow I cross the border of California for points east. With some sadness, I wave farewell to the west coast until next fall (yep, you heard me right; I'm already planning the post-tour Tour...).

After a rejuvenating hiatus in so-Cal, tomorrow morning I hop onto US I-8 toward an extremely musical month of February -- look out Arizona and New Mexico. The month of March will include major stops in Houston and New Orleans. The music schedule is lighter in March so I am hoping for an opportunity or two to focus my energies on some nature-based community ritual. Let me ... Read more

  • What the hell am I doing? (January 15, 2011)

I walk somewhat timidly into the Mandolin Cafe, a spacious and elegant coffee house in the heart of Tacoma. I don't know a soul in the place and have no idea what to expect when I walk through the doors. With these smallish venues I frequent, the reception I get when I walk in with my guitar strapped to my back varies widely -- a befuddled barista stoically acknowledging that "oh yeah, I guess we are having music tonight..."; bustling waiters that seem vaguely annoyed that I need a meal and a glass of water to nourish the vocal chords ... • Greetings from Still-in-Portland, Oregon (January 10, 2011)

I have been bopping back and forth between Oregon and Washington State with my guitar and a couple of songs for nearly a month now. This week I make my way down the Oregon Coast Highway to San Francisco. They are calling for ice & snow in parts of Oregon on Tuesday night & WEdnesday wo I am going to leave earlier than planned and take the scenic coastal route instead of I-5. If you know anyone who lives along the coast of Oregon or Northern California (North Bend, Brookings, Crescent City, Eureka, Arcata, etc) let me know as I ... Read more

  • music tour gets its wings (Dec 17, 2010)

The sleek brown Pegasus that so vividly presented itself to me in a dream meadow just before I departed Asheville has swiftly and with seamless grace delivered my brother and I into the majestic arms of the Pacific Northwest. We passed so easily through the eye of a needle traversing the slush of Vail Pass in the Colorado Rockies that spoke of ice & snow the day previous and portended ice & snow to come the day after. Though the Rockies were astounding, the highlight of the 44-hour drive was, hands-down, the otherworldly scape of eastern Oregon lightly blanketed in ... Read more

  • Tour 2011 (Dec 11, 2010)

This one thing is true: I want to sing for you.

Also, I am in love ... with the precious planet we live on, the wild mystery of a cosmos our planet whirls in, and the utterly satisfying depths of communion, creativity and co-mingling we are capable of as a species.

I am on a two-tiered tour across the lower 48 states, offering musical performances alongside wilderness retreats. You can contribute in a number of ways from providing a space for a music or nature-based event to offering some pocket change toward my giant leap into widely manifesting my gifts.
